I didn’t learn of this until today. Like the majority of people, I initially thought that .999 repeating was less than one. But it turns out that they are equal. Most of us don’t think of it that way, but it’s true.
Consider the following:
1/3 + 1/3 + 1/3 = 1.
1/3 = 0.333 repeating.
0.333~ + 0.333~ + 0.333~ = 0.999~ = 1
Let’s now use algebra:
x = .999~
10x = 9.999~
10x =...

Thaanks. I am actually trying to learn a bunch of Sufjan songs on guitar. But the problem is I have not quite yet gotten to the point where I can sing and play guitar at the same time without trouble.

So apparently my father called the house 3 times today. I never bother with the home phone so I didn’t notice this. My mom told me he said it was important, so she called him back. Apparently he’s drunk. Cool stuff.
I haven’t seen him in 3-4 years nor do I want to.
